Woodworking Resources

  About Us
Linden Publishing, Inc. is a specialist bookseller and publisher established in 1977. The Woodworkers Library, Linden's woodworking branch, was also founded that year.

We started out as R. Sorsky, Bookseller. R. Sorsky was a dealer in antiquarian and used woodworking titles. During that period, we had many of the classic woodworking titles come through our doors, including Hough’s The American Woods, Michaux’s North American Sylva, Sutcliffe’s The Modern Carpenter and Joiner and Cabinetmaker, van der Horst’s Theatrum Machinarum, and for the turner, Audsley’s The Art of Polychromatic and Decorative Turning, as well as a number of complete sets of Holtzapffel.

Over the years, many of the old woodworking books became very difficult to find and we turned to the new book market. The Taunton Press and Sterling Publishing began to publish a steady stream of woodworking titles, and Linden began its own publishing program by reprinting a number of woodworking titles that had gone out of print but were still in demand by woodworkers. In addition to reprinting standard classics, we now publish entirely new titles on a regular basis, and are always looking for new authors.

The Woodworkers Library is the first of the independent booksellers to specialize in offering woodworking books and a catalog of related titles to the world. It is our goal to be your one-stop online woodworking bookstore. We strive to maintain a wide variety of woodworking and related titles to meet the interests of most every type of visitor, from professional to hobbyist to beginner. Let us know if you have any suggestions or need help finding something. We would enjoy hearing from you. And if you prefer to browse our selection offline, you may wish to request a copy of our printed catalog.

Visit our help page to learn more about the site, and our contact/ comment page to communicate with us.

Linden also publishes the Craven Street Books imprint, which is geared toward bringing "forgotten" books back into print in the areas of history, travel, and biography or autobiography, along with selected military history. Please contact us to learn more.

Linden Publishing is a proud member of the American Booksellers Association and the Publishers Marketing Association.
